What can I expect when I come to worship?

WORSHIP DURING COVID 19 PANDEMIC  ... We are currently meeting outside in a socially distanced manner. We gather on the lawns in the circle between the driveways and place our "bring your own lawn chairs" to accommodate distancing. Masks are worn during the service to protect ourselves and those around us. Safety protocols are followed, so feel confident in joining us! Recordings of the services are available here on our website: https://gouldchurch.org/podcasts/services-sermons if you don't feel comfortable joining us in person right now!

What is it like? Our church is a family-oriented church with traditional style worship and music. We are part of the Reformed Church in America, one of America’s oldest denominations. Even in saying that, we welcome people from a variety of traditions who call us their home. People of all faith backgrounds are welcome to worship with us and be part of our church family.

What about my kids? Small children and babies are welcome at every service. Our services are for the whole family to worship together. Part of the service includes a time for the children’s message. Children’s worship activity bulletins that match the Sunday’s scriptures are available.

Where do I park? The parking lot is right behind the church. Handicapped parking spaces are clearly marked nearest the church doors. Our main entrance is at the side facing the driveway, and a ramp leads up to side door by the parking lot to access the main floor.

What do I wear? People are invited to come to worship as they feel comfortable for worship. Some will dress casually while others dress more formally. Our minister usually wears a jacket and tie, or a pulpit robe, but we invite you to come as you feel comfortable.

What to Expect? The Gould Church offers a service that honors and respects our traditional "Church" while staying fresh. You will find a relatively traditional service with a contemporary message related to how we can live a better, more fulfilled life. Our music is a blend of traditional, gospel, and contemporary. We sing songs of praise as well as the hymns that have been loved for generations.

Is the church handicapped accessible? We have a ramp leading to the main floor, with an elevator that leads to the Fellowship area and restrooms downstairs.

How can I get connected? Talk to the pastor or to one of church leaders about the opportunities to serve in our church and community. Membership classes are offered upon request.

How can I join as a member?
By profession of faith in Christ.
By transfer of letter (if your previous church membership is honored this way).
By reaffirmation- by attendance and worship if having a background in church that doesn't have the tradition of transfer by letter.
Contact the Pastor, an elder, or the church office if interested in becoming a member of the JGMRC!
